What is an endometrial biopsy?

Endometrial biopsy is the collection of small pieces of tissue from the inside of the uterus.

What is pipelle?

Pipelle is a thin catheter with which, through the vagina and cervix, we can collect biopsies of endometrial tissue and send them for histological examination.

In which cases is the endometrial biopsy performed with pipelle?

  • Thick endometrium in menopause 

  • Menopausal Bleeding

  • Endometrial recheck-biopsy after insertion of an endometrial system-progesterone spiral (Mirena). In this way we can check the endometrium whenever we want without moving the endometrial spiral.

  • Check for Endometrial microbiome, in cases     of infertility or multiple miscarriages.

  • In cases of receiving treatment for breast cancer, where the parallel control of the endometrium is needed. 

  • Simultaneously with diagnostic office hysteroscopy.
